<br />
This is an art journal I made for a dear friend<br />
she is not well and I wanted something to make<br />
her smile.<br />
I made it about 8" by 8".It is covered in lace, flowers ,ribbon and bling.<br />
<br />
This was a fun journal to make, I love soft colors, lace, ribbon, so it came together quite easy, once I decide which way to go.<br />

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fwIpzctGd1A/UxdKl9sXy9I/AAAAAAAACFQ/Z1hO6CaGaU4/s1600/DSCF1187.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fwIpzctGd1A/UxdKl9sXy9I/AAAAAAAACFQ/Z1hO6CaGaU4/s1600/DSCF1187.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
I call this a pocket card, it is a pretty card made with a big pocket aprox.6"x 6" with extra pockets on the front to hold tags. It has large tags in the big pocket with a postcard for writing. The bird cage has a pretty blue organdy ribbon. All of the tags are removable.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OJo1qK-nTRw/UxdKpJCj27I/AAAAAAAACFY/gC8CvN8Gvvc/s1600/DSCF1188.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OJo1qK-nTRw/UxdKpJCj27I/AAAAAAAACFY/gC8CvN8Gvvc/s1600/DSCF1188.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
A close up look, on the left are 3 layered pockets with small tags, flowers on the lower right edge.<br />
The bird tag is cut from glitter paper it doesn't show how pretty it is, it has a pink organdy ribbon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-f0Wu-9qqqN4/UxdKrazkVuI/AAAAAAAACFg/1MAhXBASOaw/s1600/DSCF1190.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-f0Wu-9qqqN4/UxdKrazkVuI/AAAAAAAACFg/1MAhXBASOaw/s1600/DSCF1190.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
Here you can see the bird cage it is also cut from white glitter paper. I used the Tim Holtz die to cut it, topped with a blue organdy ribbon.<br />
the hydrangea flower is the top of a large tag and there is a very large tag behind those two.<br />
This was fun to make, I sent it to a dear friend in California. <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g8n3XHEv78I/Ut6Xs1wusFI/AAAAAAAACEk/hyspaapFOlw/s1600/tags+012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g8n3XHEv78I/Ut6Xs1wusFI/AAAAAAAACEk/hyspaapFOlw/s1600/tags+012.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
Tags, I love the amount of beauty and interest that can be put on a small slip of paper, it is endless. I have a board on my pinterest site that is called Tag your it and I am constantly adding to it.<br />
<br />
These are a few of the tags I have attempted, and I must admit they are quite plain compared to some I have seen. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nPz3C1L28dU/Ut6X0ZDC9sI/AAAAAAAACEs/ogLvRdNyctY/s1600/tags+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nPz3C1L28dU/Ut6X0ZDC9sI/AAAAAAAACEs/ogLvRdNyctY/s1600/tags+004.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
On the above tag I used Stamps and I cut the shoes out<br />
of an add and copied them on my printer.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The Tag on the right with the roses ( roses are one of my favorite flowers and images to work with) features a pocket with another tag inserted in the pocket. The roses are fussy cut from paper by K & C company. I love their feminine touch to their paper line but I can't find it any more.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K1vwVjcMjso/Ut6X-DcTWbI/AAAAAAAACE0/kkFPlJJE9tY/s1600/tags+008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K1vwVjcMjso/Ut6X-DcTWbI/AAAAAAAACE0/kkFPlJJE9tY/s1600/tags+008.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
Left is a tag featuring stamps from graphic 45, they have a wonderful line of stamps and papers that cover the gamit from circus to beautiful ladies.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TifKARaFeqU/Ut6YD-0AZNI/AAAAAAAACE8/pCtYLkahQoo/s1600/tags+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TifKARaFeqU/Ut6YD-0AZNI/AAAAAAAACE8/pCtYLkahQoo/s1600/tags+006.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />Tag on the right is another graphic 45 tag using their Ladies diary papers.<br />
<br />
Well that is the thought for today. Tags.... they are fun to make and a quick creative outlet, and also they use up scraps that are to precious to toss in the waste bin.<br />

Mini album using Graphic 45 ladies diary papers. This is my first bathroom tissue paper roll album, I saw several on other blogs and You tube so I thought I would give it a try.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cAa_nhymmHY/UVc0i9PaquI/AAAAAAAACCw/eYewaMFt2vI/s1600/DSCF1044.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cAa_nhymmHY/UVc0i9PaquI/AAAAAAAACCw/eYewaMFt2vI/s320/DSCF1044.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
There are 6 Tp rolls, they make such a cute little album and they each have a ready made pocket for tags.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZDTI0k7K8LM/UVc0jVhVmZI/AAAAAAAACC8/3_sI9KXozD4/s1600/DSCF1045.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ZDTI0k7K8LM/UVc0jVhVmZI/AAAAAAAACC8/3_sI9KXozD4/s320/DSCF1045.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The ladies diary papers are so feminine, it has such pretty fashion pictures of the 1912 era. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b9mHGQSerRs/UVc0jvbxYoI/AAAAAAAACDA/kO7EDmVNWcw/s1600/DSCF1046.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b9mHGQSerRs/UVc0jvbxYoI/AAAAAAAACDA/kO7EDmVNWcw/s320/DSCF1046.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I used a bit of lace and seam binding ribbon for trim, and did some fussy cutting of the roses and the clocks.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4ZLA4zu5qqQ/UVc0kDUiw1I/AAAAAAAACDI/3gwJLMXi6Ig/s1600/DSCF1047.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4ZLA4zu5qqQ/UVc0kDUiw1I/AAAAAAAACDI/3gwJLMXi6Ig/s320/DSCF1047.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
It is always good to add a bit of the french look, as every one is a bit of a Frenchmen these days.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U9O7kf58Zfw/UVc0kX4ZMlI/AAAAAAAACDQ/5uVkwkkXa8E/s1600/DSCF1048.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U9O7kf58Zfw/UVc0kX4ZMlI/AAAAAAAACDQ/5uVkwkkXa8E/s320/DSCF1048.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This features a couple of the tags, the black & white polka dot with the flowers is the one that goes into the tube, and the rose one goes into the little pocket made from the music paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YGSg1eLmbzg/UVc0k-LEvfI/AAAAAAAACDY/rUKlMn3S0Po/s1600/DSCF1049.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YGSg1eLmbzg/UVc0k-LEvfI/AAAAAAAACDY/rUKlMn3S0Po/s320/DSCF1049.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
More fashion pics, and the ever present cart postal card.<br />
This was such a fun mini to make, I made another one that I will post soon. <br />
My dear friend Dana is battling breast cancer, I wanted to make something pretty for her to look at and to add her thoughts, pictures or anything she likes.<br />
The cover is a collage of vintage laces, silk ribbon embroidery, hand crafted silk flowers, a velvet strawberry, a pink vintage hankie and battenburg lace. there are some pink fresh water pearls and seed beads for accents<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Qq03Sl5aO4c/UOxxNOcB-RI/AAAAAAAAB9k/XpkNxmW2QGY/s1600/dana%27s+album+003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Qq03Sl5aO4c/UOxxNOcB-RI/AAAAAAAAB9k/XpkNxmW2QGY/s320/dana%27s+album+003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The pages are paper ephemera from found books,cards and some bought paper. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7ul9NMHycwQ/UOxxWAnC7ZI/AAAAAAAAB9s/Q78eCjloz8w/s1600/dana%27s+album+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7ul9NMHycwQ/UOxxWAnC7ZI/AAAAAAAAB9s/Q78eCjloz8w/s320/dana%27s+album+004.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
Dana loves roses, so I used them everywhere I could. The ones on the picket fence I fussy cut out of a beautiful paper from K.C. and company. I used vintage wall paper for the photo matt on the right side, and the dress form is a Tim Holts die called alterations.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This gal ( she is a grand mother lol) loves Winnie the poo, so I did my best to include some Winnie, Tigger, and 100 acker woods.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The page on the left is from a book I found at a garage sale. I made lots of pocket for tags, again I fussy cut the roses from a beautiful paper. The butterfly was also cut from a lager paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i0k7C2CZX4c/UOxx8ZE-jII/AAAAAAAAB-M/tbgnbfOUoV8/s1600/dana%27s+album+007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i0k7C2CZX4c/UOxx8ZE-jII/AAAAAAAAB-M/tbgnbfOUoV8/s320/dana%27s+album+007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
A vintage lace pocket with photo mats, vintage lace trim and a hand made flower with a vintage button, and seam binding leaves.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3Re2hUWLS1U/UOxyGv--9sI/AAAAAAAAB-U/-Rg9IG5ya_Y/s1600/dana%27s+album+008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3Re2hUWLS1U/UOxyGv--9sI/AAAAAAAAB-U/-Rg9IG5ya_Y/s320/dana%27s+album+008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used a Spellbinders nestable for the photo mat on the left, it is a pocket for the pink tag. The tea pot is a printable I got from pinterest I think.<br />
The tablet on the right has pages inside to journal on or add pictures. I did the embossing with a Sizzix embossing folder called peacocks and leaves.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8FNXhtYPTb8/UOxyPBhsElI/AAAAAAAAB-c/wNltTaIDaG4/s1600/dana%27s+album+009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8FNXhtYPTb8/UOxyPBhsElI/AAAAAAAAB-c/wNltTaIDaG4/s320/dana%27s+album+009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
More pockets, with cute tags, the left page is some beautiful rose paper, I can't remember where I got it. I used Tim holts vintage photo distress ink to distress the page. On the right is some fab wall paper with big gorgeous roses from my vintage stash, and the bird is a chip board piece I have had for ages.<br />
I love making this for Dana I hope it brings her a moment of joy.<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1Olz1ClzDVQ/UJUxil8Rn5I/AAAAAAAAB6M/7OK2CdgDIcc/s1600/Dillys+baby+album+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1Olz1ClzDVQ/UJUxil8Rn5I/AAAAAAAAB6M/7OK2CdgDIcc/s320/Dillys+baby+album+001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
My dear sweet friend is having a baby girl, so I made her this baby album from graphic 45 lil darling papers, and other papers I have had for a while.<br />
This is the cover, I made the flowers and the velvet berries <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-D6bgwmwwVyo/UJUxkoyEeCI/AAAAAAAAB6U/TgnL-YSQlS4/s1600/Dillys+baby+album+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-D6bgwmwwVyo/UJUxkoyEeCI/AAAAAAAAB6U/TgnL-YSQlS4/s320/Dillys+baby+album+002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
One of the inside pages, this one opens up to the right and has another page behind it. I have made tags, photo mats, and added other embellishments, like the little beaded baby shoes<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3O6BIbiEY2M/UJUxm114KBI/AAAAAAAAB6c/QQDeC4utuhk/s1600/Dillys+baby+album+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3O6BIbiEY2M/UJUxm114KBI/AAAAAAAAB6c/QQDeC4utuhk/s320/Dillys+baby+album+004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This was a fun page to make, I fussy cut the baby boy and the bunny, added a photo mat and some tags. I love the picket fence.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DKZfFCZj598/UJUxpMDCxTI/AAAAAAAAB6k/eWBFBk9LFQk/s1600/Dillys+baby+album+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DKZfFCZj598/UJUxpMDCxTI/AAAAAAAAB6k/eWBFBk9LFQk/s320/Dillys+baby+album+006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
More of the picket fence on the next page, this time the fence opens like a gate so you can see all of the little girl. I fussy cut the roses and used them for a border and to hold the blue photo mat and lil darling tag. I heard the new babies middle name is to be Rose, courtesy of her big brother Lukus. So I tried to use roses as much as I could.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3JPXvfymPvE/UJUxrImbpGI/AAAAAAAAB6s/mzuLA_ON-_4/s1600/Dillys+baby+album+008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3JPXvfymPvE/UJUxrImbpGI/AAAAAAAAB6s/mzuLA_ON-_4/s320/Dillys+baby+album+008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This is a special baby, so I liked the tag with the word special on it. More tag pockets, and photo mats.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-68q480JEBWc/UJUxteylaVI/AAAAAAAAB68/uYOrD8SW3Nw/s1600/Dillys+baby+album+011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-68q480JEBWc/UJUxteylaVI/AAAAAAAAB68/uYOrD8SW3Nw/s320/Dillys+baby+album+011.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I really like this page with the cute animals, there is space behind them for photos, and I have a photo mat that you can pull out on the right side, you can see the pull tab in blue.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QUSk3RlyC94/UJUxvZ4ETPI/AAAAAAAAB7E/8jbnlr5GJDs/s1600/Dillys+baby+album+013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QUSk3RlyC94/UJUxvZ4ETPI/AAAAAAAAB7E/8jbnlr5GJDs/s320/Dillys+baby+album+013.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
More of the cute animals and lil darling tags. A yellow photo mat is in the pocket behind the Giraffe. There are places to journal on all the tags and behind the photo mats<br />
This was fun to make I hope she enjoys it.Wandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18161714111799645767noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6744393594329875858.post-88960156170789616992012-10-15T09:05:00.000-07:002012-10-15T09:05:07.744-07:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is my latest swap. It was a jewelery onsome a necklace, bracelet and earrings. My swap partner was Sara from the UK.<br />
She said she liked purple, so I chose amethyst semi precious stones as the focal point on the necklace and as the drops on the earrings. the necklace is much longer than it appears I wanted it all on the display for the pic. On the bracelet I added some charms I made and I especially like the little tea pot charm, it seemed right England, tea. It was a fun swap and I received a beautiful set from Sara in pinks my fav color.Wandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18161714111799645767noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6744393594329875858.post-91188333367396705942012-08-29T20:41:00.003-07:002012-08-29T20:41:47.226-07:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I was recently in a swap with a new group and we altered match boxes, the theme was a midsummer's night dream from Shakespeare. I chose a picture that I thought would resemble Tatiana, and then made gold stars, handcrafted silk flowers, wings and a key. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
We filled the boxes with goodies and sent them to our partners. It was a fun swap and my first Shakespeare theme. <br />

I recently participated in a swap at an on line group I belong to. LSH. We were to decorate and fill a cigar box with goodies. My partner likes the Shabby look and likes the color teal. Here is what I made for her. I hand crafted the flowers and used as much lace and bling as I could. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I filled it with a variety of goodies and some hand crafted tags and such.<br />

Our Boho dinning room. I covered the "floor" with rugs and carpets. Put up dyed lace curtains all around the inside of the tent, and dyed the chair covers. I made the pillows on the chairs. <br />

lace to cover the whole shade and then fussy cut the<br />
roses, and glued them on.<br />

I have noticed many people on line are giving away free digital art. This is my contribution to that effort. If you like it use it. I am just learning how to use digital programs and so far this is my best go.Wandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18161714111799645767noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6744393594329875858.post-29579047493346412002012-03-29T12:14:00.004-07:002012-03-29T12:17:30.044-07:00Frame this<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CUgpxlN7_rs/T3SwklLmZ_I/AAAAAAAABxA/cr0YCpWcByI/s1600/DSCF0249.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CUgpxlN7_rs/T3SwklLmZ_I/AAAAAAAABxA/cr0YCpWcByI/s320/DSCF0249.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I have had these frames for a few years, yes I know.. but it took me a while to figure out what to do with them. I originally bought them to cover them with flowers, inspiration from one I saw in a very upscale shop. I couldn't get it to look right so I went the mixed media route, and I think they turned out very nice.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-s0w0tQwD9cw/T3Swq1Hs0LI/AAAAAAAABxI/vfn2rZdRfX0/s1600/DSCF0250.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-s0w0tQwD9cw/T3Swq1Hs0LI/AAAAAAAABxI/vfn2rZdRfX0/s320/DSCF0250.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I copied the Paris wall plaque you can see on the left and then decoupaged it to the frame. I love the way Paris and the Eiffel tower look. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C1MvGCo8BcY/T3SwvZ729eI/AAAAAAAABxQ/b7OgFLQJs4I/s1600/DSCF0263.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C1MvGCo8BcY/T3SwvZ729eI/AAAAAAAABxQ/b7OgFLQJs4I/s320/DSCF0263.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I also thought a Marie Antoinette style picture would look nice in it and the colors really look pretty good together.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zBzmGU6wwqg/T3Sw6TfxQMI/AAAAAAAABxY/T7WzbU4yFm0/s1600/DSCF0258.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zBzmGU6wwqg/T3Sw6TfxQMI/AAAAAAAABxY/T7WzbU4yFm0/s320/DSCF0258.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Frame #2. I printed a lot of things from the Graphic Fairy on regular paper, and decoupaged them on and I haven't decided if it needs to be antiqued a bit to pull it all together. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OLzK-11nAAE/T3Sw8bLbN4I/AAAAAAAABxg/njnLFf8IC_c/s1600/DSCF0259.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OLzK-11nAAE/T3Sw8bLbN4I/AAAAAAAABxg/njnLFf8IC_c/s320/DSCF0259.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The graphic Fairy has so many wonderful images and I love the labels and the script pages they all work together so nicely. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T9TtNPqoy_c/T3SxAF6KIaI/AAAAAAAABxo/Z1k2I-6HP44/s1600/DSCF0260.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-T9TtNPqoy_c/T3SxAF6KIaI/AAAAAAAABxo/Z1k2I-6HP44/s320/DSCF0260.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The picture of the merry-go-round horses came with the frame, and I haven't decided what to put in it instead. Point of interest, Merry-go-rounds travel different direction in different countries clockwise in one, and counter clockwise in the other I don't remember which is which.<br />
I have been in a bit of a creative slump and haven't done much but I thought I would share these.Wandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18161714111799645767noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6744393594329875858.post-29046917542859856312012-02-27T15:45:00.003-08:002012-02-27T15:48:08.136-08:00Paris wall pocket made from swap supplies<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My Paris wall pocket made in the BoHo style from the supplies from my swap partner. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_hCSag7IIyo/T0wSyp2DBII/AAAAAAAABvA/X2MbYlhKP-8/s1600/DSCF0230.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_hCSag7IIyo/T0wSyp2DBII/AAAAAAAABvA/X2MbYlhKP-8/s320/DSCF0230.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I made the main roses of the print fabric she sent dimensional by cutting out ones like them and adding singed tulle and embroidering the centers with french knots and sewing them over the ones on the fabric. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RrQmLE85NZU/T0wS03qDtEI/AAAAAAAABvI/41pfkbixfiA/s1600/DSCF0227.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RrQmLE85NZU/T0wS03qDtEI/AAAAAAAABvI/41pfkbixfiA/s320/DSCF0227.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This is the pocket to the left here, I sewed the Marie image that was sent to some brown silk and added the flowers and leaves made from ribbons.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ix4mOmF0YZs/T0wS4TjQOrI/AAAAAAAABvQ/DwT4a2Bg8N0/s1600/DSCF0229.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ix4mOmF0YZs/T0wS4TjQOrI/AAAAAAAABvQ/DwT4a2Bg8N0/s320/DSCF0229.JPG" width="240" />t</a></div>
This shows the lace used for the bottom ruffles, the bottom lace which is also the longest has tulips on it, and tulips were part of the floral pattern on the fabric. I cut out some of the flower motifs and let them cascade down the lace, I also used the rayon seam binding from the kit and made the swags.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0eHp7gYIJ1U/T0wS9_ycrbI/AAAAAAAABvY/N9RZbBT4nVc/s1600/DSCF0220.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0eHp7gYIJ1U/T0wS9_ycrbI/AAAAAAAABvY/N9RZbBT4nVc/s320/DSCF0220.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Isn't this a pretty package, I love the paper it was wrapped in. I am saving it for future crafting projects.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XsdLAzjvm3c/T0wTALjcy2I/AAAAAAAABvg/aWw6QLlx5Ns/s1600/DSCF0221.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XsdLAzjvm3c/T0wTALjcy2I/AAAAAAAABvg/aWw6QLlx5Ns/s320/DSCF0221.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
And here is what was in the package, as you can see it is enough for several wall pockets. Terri is always very generous, and has excellent taste. My online art group has many swaps, this is one I hosted and I had 2 partners. I have already posted the other one.<br />
This partner likes the <span style="background-color: #ead1dc;">pinks</span> and <span style="background-color: #f3f3f3;">creams </span>as do I, so this was a fun one to put together. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D2ocvEhzAOQ/T0W_3tf1WaI/AAAAAAAABtc/k0z_L_Jy0rw/s1600/DSCF0173.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D2ocvEhzAOQ/T0W_3tf1WaI/AAAAAAAABtc/k0z_L_Jy0rw/s320/DSCF0173.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I so love the image of the girl in<span style="background-color: #ead1dc;"> pink</span> it works up real pretty, this one is printed on silk material, the card has French style entredeux lace and <span style="background-color: #ead1dc;">pink</span> and <span style="background-color: #f3f3f3;">cream </span>silk ribbon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The rose buds were something new I tried, I used silk ribbon and embroidered them on ribbon and voile material, I am hoping she can sew them into her design and have it look wonderful.<br />
The other image of the girl in the<span style="background-color: #ead1dc;"> pink </span>dress also printed on silk is one of my favorites it is so delicate.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--_B0BwDdRN4/T0W_-qfv_PI/AAAAAAAABts/Lk6aZnNJB94/s1600/DSCF0175.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--_B0BwDdRN4/T0W_-qfv_PI/AAAAAAAABts/Lk6aZnNJB94/s320/DSCF0175.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I sent 2 different rose print materials for the body of the wall pocket with some sheers and lace and a collaged piece to use as a pockt if that is what she chooses. I also sent a bag of snippits of ribbons, lace and such to use to trim her pocket. There we have it my two kits for my 2 partners for the Paris wall pocket swap. My on line art group is having a swap for a kit to make a french style wall pocket, and I am hosting the swap, this is the first time for me to host with this group. It was a fun learning experience. It is always more fun to have partners and as we had an uneven number, I got to have 2 partners. This is the kit I made for one of them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RxTDTp97wmg/T0AQ1GQu9KI/AAAAAAAABtE/oExP_lRkcZI/s1600/DSCF0170.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RxTDTp97wmg/T0AQ1GQu9KI/AAAAAAAABtE/oExP_lRkcZI/s400/DSCF0170.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
She choose the colors <span style="background-color: #d9d2e9;">lavender</span>, <span style="background-color: #cfe2f3;">blue,</span> and <span style="background-color: #ead1dc;">pink</span>, no orange or puke green she said. lol. So those were the colors I got to work with and they are some of my favorites as well. We were to include a Marie style image, and you can see the blue one in the picture to the right, I think this is such a pretty picture. I handcrafted the large <span style="background-color: #cfe2f3;">blue </span>flowers from silk ribbon,and the smaller ones from organdy. The center card holds silk ribbon to use as she chooses.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cZUFkRT2Mhk/T0AQ3zDXNvI/AAAAAAAABtM/Bn_p-WRnC7w/s1600/DSCF0171.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-cZUFkRT2Mhk/T0AQ3zDXNvI/AAAAAAAABtM/Bn_p-WRnC7w/s320/DSCF0171.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The image of the woman in the <span style="background-color: #d9d2e9;">lavender</span> dress is such a sweet one, and is in the right color so she can choose which one to use or use both. We were to include lace, and snippets of useable trim, and some bling. So here it is I so enjoyed putting it together. As I said I have 2 partners for this swap and I will post the other one soon. Here she is my Marie style half doll, this is for a swap on my MAMA swap group. We sent materials to our partners so they could dress their own half dolls. My partner was Tabitha. Their are five layers of clothing 2 petticoats, and 3 over skirts.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2qa-7EKSfdU/TybVwAVHBSI/AAAAAAAABq0/z2BdsFfB9gc/s1600/DSCF0163.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2qa-7EKSfdU/TybVwAVHBSI/AAAAAAAABq0/z2BdsFfB9gc/s400/DSCF0163.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Here is a side view you can get a better idea of how the farthingale works to hold out the over skirts, The french call it a pannier hooped petticoat.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tm4U4Mw3O2k/TybVzqmSjWI/AAAAAAAABq8/iQLUNvoB_Ss/s1600/DSCF0164.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tm4U4Mw3O2k/TybVzqmSjWI/AAAAAAAABq8/iQLUNvoB_Ss/s320/DSCF0164.JPG" width="320" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Tm4U4Mw3O2k/TybVzqmSjWI/AAAAAAAABq8/iQLUNvoB_Ss/s1600/DSCF0164.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> </a></div>
A back view, it took me a while to figure out a pattern for the over skirts, so I have many trial and error skirts I made for the final pattern, as I had to fit them to the doll and had nothing to go from.<br />
The big pink bow is a beautiful silk ribbon.<br />

A close up of the many layers, I used silk dupioni ribbon for at the ruching that the tiny silk flowers I made are attached to,that is the first pink layer. The next 2 layers or over skirts are trimmed with lace, actually the top one is lace trimmed with lace and beads. I sew crystals to the middle over skirt as I read that Marie Antoinette had precious gems sewn to her gowns. <br />

Marie was fond of big hair do's and hats so I thought why not give it a go and try to make a hat. This was my first try and it is really one of my favorite things about the doll. I think I would like one for myself. (smile) I used some of the tiny silk flower I made and some feathers in <span style="background-color: #ead1dc;">pink</span>, <span style="background-color: #eeeeee;">white </span>and <span style="background-color: #b6d7a8;">green.</span><br />
Her sash is silk ribbon trimmed with the tiny silk flowers.<br />

A close up of the hat, I am so pleased with the way it turned out.<br />

Here she is in her second petticoat, you can see the farthingale sticking out from her waist like flat wings. I made it from wire and covered it with quilt batting. Not pretty but it served its purpose<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vX4591XxSzs/TybWSFZsBUI/AAAAAAAABrk/V1-RKbrpFLQ/s1600/DSCF0149.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vX4591XxSzs/TybWSFZsBUI/AAAAAAAABrk/V1-RKbrpFLQ/s320/DSCF0149.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
A better view of the top petticoat. Each layer of lace was sewn on by hand.<br />

This is the first over skirt<br />

Better view of the first over skirt, you can see the ruching with the dupioni silk ribbon, and the silk flowers I also added some swarovski crystals between the flowers for added bling. to bad they don't show up better.<br />
<br />
Well there she is my first half doll. I am happy with the way she turned out and I plan on doing another one or 2 down the line, as I got 2 on ebay from England.<span style="background-color: #8e7cc3;"> TTFN</span>Wandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18161714111799645767noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6744393594329875858.post-52083234486888561642012-01-22T15:25:00.000-08:002012-01-30T16:09:51.922-08:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
My latest French style wall pocket. This is so pretty but my camera couldn't really capture the colors and detail to show it off. Above is the up close detail of the pocket, I used an image of a young Marie Antoinette, and surrounded it with silk ribbon embroidery, silk flowers that I hand crafted and some pretty crystals that don't show up in the photo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4pWzhpNvZFY/TxyXKAGpceI/AAAAAAAABnY/7TzOYMJoNvY/s1600/DSCF0126.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4pWzhpNvZFY/TxyXKAGpceI/AAAAAAAABnY/7TzOYMJoNvY/s320/DSCF0126.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">You can see it full length in the above picture, it measures 29" in length and 9" across. I used half of a vintage lace dresser scarf for the very long ruffle at the bottom. And topped it with an extra wide gathered lace, added the handcrafted silk ribbon flowers at the sides of the ruffle.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-em52eOLLOiA/TxyXRJQtKzI/AAAAAAAABng/PWvQkwO5ArA/s1600/DSCF0137.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-em52eOLLOiA/TxyXRJQtKzI/AAAAAAAABng/PWvQkwO5ArA/s320/DSCF0137.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">The above photo is featuring the upper part of the pocket, showing all of the lace and silk ribbon embroidery I did. I love doing the embroidery and it looks so wonderful and adds such a vintage look to almost anything.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KmanCp2oMqQ/TxyXVkbuHtI/AAAAAAAABno/FJa367pYE5U/s1600/DSCF0138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KmanCp2oMqQ/TxyXVkbuHtI/AAAAAAAABno/FJa367pYE5U/s320/DSCF0138.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">In this last picture you can get a close up of the lace scarf and the handcrafted rosettes,the top layer of vintage lace and the wonderful style lace that tops the 2 ruffles. I so enjoyed making this French style wall pocket and it is featured in the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group as a swap.
