For Dana

My dear friend Dana is battling breast cancer, I wanted to make  something pretty for her to look at and to add her thoughts, pictures or anything she likes.
The cover is a collage of vintage laces, silk ribbon embroidery, hand crafted silk flowers, a velvet strawberry, a pink vintage hankie and battenburg lace. there are some pink fresh water pearls and seed beads for accents

The pages are paper ephemera from found books, cards and some bought paper.

Dana loves roses, so I used them everywhere I could. The ones on the picket fence I fussy cut out of a beautiful paper from K.C. and company. I used vintage wall paper for the photo matt on the right side, and the dress form is a Tim Holts die called alterations.

This gal ( she is a grand mother lol) loves Winnie the poo, so I did my best to include some Winnie, Tigger, and 100 acker woods.

The page on the left is from a book I found at a garage sale. I made lots of pocket for tags, again I fussy cut the roses from a beautiful paper. The butterfly was also cut from a lager paper.

A vintage lace pocket with photo mats, vintage lace trim and a hand made flower with a vintage button, and seam binding leaves.

I used a Spellbinders nestable for the photo mat on the left, it is a pocket for the pink tag. The tea pot is a printable I got from pinterest I think.
The tablet on the right has pages inside to journal on or add pictures. I did the embossing with a Sizzix embossing folder called peacocks  and leaves.

More pockets, with cute tags, the left page is some beautiful rose paper, I can't remember where I got it. I used Tim holts vintage photo distress ink to distress the page. On the right is some fab wall paper  with big gorgeous roses from my vintage stash, and the bird is a chip board piece I have had for ages.
I love making this for Dana I hope it brings her a moment of joy.

My dear sweet friend is having a baby girl, so I made her this baby album from graphic 45 lil darling papers, and other papers I have had for a while.
This is the cover, I made the flowers and the velvet berries
One of the inside pages, this one opens up to the right and has another page behind it. I have made tags, photo mats, and added other embellishments, like the little beaded baby shoes
This was a fun page to make, I fussy cut the baby boy and the bunny, added a photo mat and some tags. I love the picket fence.
More of the picket fence on the next page, this time the fence opens like a gate  so you can see all of the little girl. I fussy cut the roses and used them for a border and to hold the blue photo mat and lil darling tag.  I heard the new babies middle name is to be Rose, courtesy of her big brother Lukus. So I tried to use roses as much as I could.
This is a special baby, so I liked the tag with the word special on it. More tag pockets, and photo mats.
I really like this page with the cute animals, there is space behind them for photos, and I have a photo mat that you can pull out on the right side, you can see the pull tab in blue.
More of the cute animals and lil darling tags. A yellow photo mat is in the pocket behind the Giraffe. There are places to journal on all the tags and behind the photo mats
This was fun to make I hope she enjoys it.

This is my latest swap. It was a jewelery onsome a necklace, bracelet and earrings. My swap partner was Sara from the UK.
She said she liked purple, so I chose amethyst semi precious stones as the focal point on the necklace and as the drops  on the earrings. the necklace is much longer than it appears I wanted it all on the display for the pic. On the bracelet I added some charms I made and I especially like the little tea pot charm, it seemed right  England, tea. It was a fun swap and I received a beautiful set from Sara in pinks my fav color.

I was recently in a swap with a new group and we altered match boxes, the theme was a midsummer's night dream from Shakespeare. I chose a picture that I thought would resemble Tatiana, and then made gold stars, handcrafted silk flowers, wings and a key.

We filled the boxes with goodies and sent them to our partners. It was a fun swap and my first Shakespeare theme.

Lil' scrap of heaven swap

I recently participated in a swap at an on line group  I belong to.  LSH.  We were to decorate and fill a cigar box with goodies. My partner likes the Shabby look and likes the color teal. Here is what I made for her. I hand crafted the flowers and used as much lace and bling as I could.

I filled it with a variety of goodies and some hand crafted tags and such.

 This is how it looked
filled and ready to send.

I  love steam punk. this is what Lana sent me, she did such a great job. I am anxious to start learning steampunk  design.

Glamping in our 1977 Argosy

This is the vanity in the bodiour of our trailer. I love this part I get to change out the decor with every glamp.
One of the bird cages I got decorated for the Boho dinning room in our tent.
This is the seating area behind the table. The peacock feathers are from a dear friend in Mississippi, her name is Marie Antoinette, for real. She is a great cyber friend.
A close up of one of the place settings at the dinning room table, I dyed all of the table covers and the napkins.
A night view of the Boho dinning room.
Our Boho dinning room. I covered the "floor" with rugs and carpets. Put up dyed lace curtains all around the inside of the tent, and dyed the chair covers. I made the pillows on the chairs.
My favorite part of the table decor is the fabulous pink gazing ball, I so love it. The roses came from my garden.
You can see the whole tent here, we have purple twinkle  lights surrounding the tent.. It was a fun glamp and I must say everyone loved the  Boho tent.

altered lamp shade

Roses and lace, cover this altered lamp shade. I used
lace to cover the whole shade and then fussy cut the
roses, and glued them on.
I tried to follow a wave pattern all the way around
with the roses.
close up of the roses and the double ruffle, I used a crocheted lace for the under ruffle, and a curtain ruffle for the sheer over ruffle

Free digital art

I have noticed many people on line are giving away free digital art. This is my contribution to that effort. If you like it use it. I am just learning how to use digital  programs and so far this is my best go.

Frame this

I have had these frames for a few years, yes I know.. but it took me a while to figure out what to do with them. I originally bought them to cover them with flowers, inspiration from one I saw in a very upscale shop. I couldn't get it to look right so I went the mixed media route, and I think they turned out very nice.
I copied the Paris wall plaque you can see on the left and then decoupaged it to the frame. I love the way Paris and the Eiffel tower look.
I also thought a Marie Antoinette style picture would look nice in it and the colors really look pretty good together.
Frame #2.   I printed a lot of things from the Graphic Fairy on regular paper, and decoupaged them on and  I  haven't decided if it needs to be antiqued a bit to pull it all together.
The graphic Fairy has so many wonderful images and I love the labels and the script pages they all work together so nicely.
The picture of the merry-go-round horses came with the frame, and I haven't decided what to put in it instead.  Point of interest, Merry-go-rounds travel different direction in different countries clockwise in one, and counter clockwise in the other I don't remember which is which.
I have been in a bit of a creative slump and haven't done much but I thought I would share these.

Paris wall pocket made from swap supplies

My Paris wall pocket made in the BoHo style from the supplies from my swap partner.
I made the main roses of the print fabric she sent dimensional by cutting out ones like them and adding singed tulle and embroidering the centers with french knots and sewing them over the ones on the fabric.
This is the pocket to the left here, I sewed the Marie image that was sent to some brown silk and added the flowers and leaves  made from ribbons.
t
This shows the lace used for the bottom ruffles,  the bottom lace which is also the longest has tulips on it, and tulips were part of the floral pattern on the fabric. I cut out some of the flower motifs and let them cascade down the lace, I also used the rayon seam binding from the kit and made the swags.
Isn't this a pretty package, I love the paper it was wrapped in. I am saving it for future crafting projects.
And here is what was in the package, as you can see it is enough for several wall pockets. Terri is always very generous, and has excellent taste.  TTFN Wanda

Paris wall pocket swap for MAMA group

My online art group has many swaps, this is one I hosted and I had 2 partners. I have already posted the other one.
This partner likes the pinks and creams as do I, so this was a fun one to put together.
I so love the image of the girl in pink it works up real pretty, this one is printed on silk material, the card has French style  entredeux lace and pink and cream silk ribbon.
The rose buds were something new I tried, I used silk ribbon and embroidered them on ribbon and voile material, I am hoping she can sew them into her design and have it look wonderful.
The other image of the girl in the pink dress also printed on silk is one of my favorites it is so delicate.
I sent 2 different rose print materials for the body of the wall pocket with some sheers and lace and a collaged piece to use as a pockt if that is what she chooses. I also sent a bag of snippits of ribbons, lace and such to use to trim her pocket. There we have it my two kits for my 2 partners for the Paris wall pocket swap. TTFN
